Michigan’s reign atop the USA TODAY Sports men’s basketball coaching poll is over, at least for now. The Wolverines lost to highly anticipated Wisconsin, dropping them from the No. 1 spot they had held for the past month.

Arizona State has taken over the top spot. The Wildcats were one of just five teams in Division I unscathed, receiving 29 of 31 first-place votes this week. This is the first time he has been in the lead since December 11, 2023. Iowa State is also undefeated and moved up to No. 2 after winning No. 1. Michigan fell to third place but retained one first-place vote. Connecticut and Purdue remain in the top five.

6th place Duke and 7th place Houston are also doing well. Undefeated Vanderbilt moved up two spots to eighth place, just ahead of Gonzaga. Nebraska entered the top 10 in the coaches’ poll for the first time, needing a big comeback against Indiana over the weekend, but kept a scoreless game.

Florida rejoins the polls for the first time in a week at No. 20. No. 21 Clemson State and No. 24 Utah State enter the rankings for the first time this season. No. 23 Iowa and No. 25 Kansas remained on the ballot despite their losses. Tennessee, Villanova, and SMU weren’t as lucky, falling outside the top 25.
