LOS ANGELES – Sunday’s 83rd Golden Globe Awards was all about celebrating the year’s best in film and television, with “One Battle After Another” and Netflix’s “Adolescence” stealing the night with four major trophies each.
But beyond the triumph, the Jan. 11 ceremony doubled as Hollywood’s most glamorous date night. Star couples like Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner and newlyweds Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco turned the Globes into a sweet showcase of romance and PDA.
Here’s how Hollywood’s power couple celebrated their night at the Globes, and what else viewers didn’t get to see on the CBS broadcast hosted by Nikki Glazer.
Chalamet and Jenner are awards season’s ‘Supreme’ couple
Jenner didn’t join Chalamet on the Globes red carpet, but she entered the glamorous ballroom smiling in a gold sequined dress and joined the Marty Supreme table just outside the stage.
This spot was so popular with star visitors that it caused heavy traffic jams in the small area. When Ariana Grande from Wicked: For Good arrived, another guest stepped on her gown, causing Jenner to think it was her chair. “I thought, oh my god, that’s me,” Jenner declared.
Despite the visitors and conversations at the table, Chalamet and Jenner spent a lot of time under the table holding hands, laughing together, and whispering to each other. Before accepting the Best Actor award, Chalamet kissed his partner of three years and told Jenner “I love you” again for the second time in seven days on stage at the ceremony.
At the end of the night, Chalamet led the crowd by the hand.
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco get an early start at the awards
Gomez and Blanco, who married in September, were literally the first couple to enter the ballroom at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, taking their seats while employees were still polishing the last wine glasses. The two often found themselves engrossed in their own conversation at an empty table when the room was full. Also in the rush were Only Murders in the Building co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short, who were seen visibly laughing at Blanco’s prank. However, during a commercial break, Blanco romantically snuggled into Gomez’s shoulder.
Sarah Wyle sends Noah Wyle on vacation after ‘The Pit’ Season 2
“The Pit” star Noah Wyle attended the show with his wife of 12 years, Sarah Wyle. Wiley, who won Best Actor for his role in the HBO Max medical series, which also won Best Drama, talked about the time off his spouse is giving him after he finishes filming Season 2 this month.
“I don’t know where she’s going to send me, but you better believe she’s going to send me somewhere,” Wiley said backstage. “We’re not always good company for a while after work.”
Making more space to display trophies while filming the HBO Max show’s second season is no easy task for the TV veteran. “It’s a little bit distracting trying to land this huge plane when you’re bowing out to work on Season 1,” Wiley said.
Actor’s ‘life is complete’ after compliment from Snoop Dogg
“Adolescence” star Stephen Graham was excited as he clutched his trophy for Best Leading Actor in a Limited Series, counting his multiple wins at the Globes, but his kids might be even more enthusiastic.
“I met Snoop Dogg and he shook my hand,” the British actor gushed. “He looked me straight in the eye. I couldn’t see his eyes because he had glasses on. And he just said, ‘You’re a (expletive) gangster.'”
He saluted into the press room with the new hardware. “My life is over. Thank you.”
The Golden Globe Awards are a “good place to recruit” guest stars for season 2 of “The Studio.”
Seth Rogen’s film “Kool-Aid” won the fictitious trophy in season 1 of “The Studio.” And in a moment of reality imitating art, the Apple TV show earned Rogen her first Golden Globe win on Sunday, as well as a win in the Best TV Comedy or Musical category. The night was more successful for the executive producer and star than it was for Matt Remick, the bumbling studio executive on screen.
“A lot of people literally just come up to us and are like, ‘Please put me on your show! I’ll do anything! I’ll pass by.'” And that’s so sweet,” Rogen told USA TODAY backstage.
“A lot of the real studio heads want to be on the show, and some of them will be,” Rogen said. “We had a few guys catch them on lines tonight, so this was a really good poaching area for us.”
Rogen acknowledged that the night also provided fodder for further satire in season two.
“We’ll start filming in a week. Yes, several things have happened leading up to today and this event, and we wrote that directly into the show,” he said. “And you’ll know what it is when you see it.”
‘KPop Demon Hunters’ stars Audrey Nuna, EJAE and Lei Ami are ‘definitely’ making more music
“KPop Demon Hunters” band Huntr/X broke Spotify’s record. So the question is not if, but when, the “Golden” singers will return to the studio together.
“We definitely want to[make more music together]. We’re all songwriters and artists in our own right,” EJAE said backstage. “Nothing official. But are you kidding? We’re friends. We’re definitely going to work on more music together.”
Paul Mescal and Gracie Abrams kiss at rooftop party
Paul Mescal seemingly reunited with his partner, singer Gracie Abrams, at the Universal Pictures afterparty after the show ended. The “Hamnet” star didn’t hesitate to caress the “That’s So True” singer’s face before kissing her multiple times during the rooftop celebration. The two were last seen in public in June 2024, and from the looks of it, their relationship is progressing well.
