WASHINGTON, Jan. 10 (Reuters) – The U.S. military said on Saturday it had carried out multiple attacks in Syria targeting the Islamic State group.
“Today’s airstrikes targeted ISIS throughout Syria,” U.S. Central Command said in a statement, adding that the strikes took place in the early afternoon ET.
The statement did not say whether there were any casualties in the airstrike.
The attack was part of Operation Hawkeye, launched in December in response to ISIS’s deadly attack on American and Syrian forces in Palmyra on December 13, 2025, according to an X post from US Central Command.
The attack killed two American soldiers and an American civilian interpreter.
