Trump, the president’s eldest granddaughter, appeared on the podcast “Impaulsive” with Logan Paul in a wide-ranging interview published on January 6, where she discussed her golf aspirations, her elusive uncle Barron Trump and what she thinks about her role in her father’s political campaign.
“To be honest, I want nothing to do with politics at all. I will never run for office and I don’t want anything to do with politics,” she said. “I think politics is a very dangerous thing. If both sides met in the middle, I think everyone would be much more (happy).”
She further stated that she believes social media contributes to people’s extreme political views. She referred to herself as “in the middle” when talking about former Vice President Kamala Harris and her grandfather’s 2024 run for the White House, but said she would of course support her family.
“He’s literally just a cool grandpa,” she said.
Who is Kai Trump?
Kai Trump, 18, is the eldest granddaughter of President Donald Trump and the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and ex-wife Vanessa Trump.
Kai Trump, making his political debut at the Republican National Convention ahead of the 2024 election, shared a human side to his grandfather, who called to check on his golf game. She said on the podcast that it was her idea to speak there, but ultimately she was more nervous about her LPGA debut than speaking on stage in Milwaukee.
Kai Trump is a senior at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and plans to play golf at the University of Miami after graduation.

Hosts furious at Kai’s 19-year-old uncle Barron Trump
Hosts Paul and Mike Myluck also asked Kai Trump about his uncle, Barron Trump, who is about a year older than him.
Barron Trump, the youngest of President Trump’s children, is the only child of the president and first lady Melania Trump. President Trump had his first child (Donald Trump Jr., Kai Trump’s father) and youngest child (Barron Trump) nearly 30 years apart.
Paul and Majulak asked Kai Trump about the popular conspiracy surrounding Barron Trump.
“Why is he so tall?” asked Paul.
“Well, my grandfather is actually quite tall,” Kai Trump replied.
Paul also asked about the much talked about moment between former President Joe Biden and Barron Trump at the inauguration.
“I have no idea. In fact, I never asked him,” she said. “Knowing Baron, he definitely didn’t say anything. At least I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.”
She also flatly replied, “No, Barron Trump is not a time traveler.”
Kai Trump loves golf just like his grandfather Donald Trump
In August 2024, she announced her decision to remain in Florida for college and play golf at the University of Miami after graduating from Benjamin School in Palm Beach County, Florida in 2026.
In February 2025, Kai Trump became the highest-paid player in high school girls golf after announcing her first major sponsorship deal with major golf equipment company TaylorMade.
She said on the podcast that in her life, she wants to “become a pro, win some tournaments, and hopefully eventually be number one in the world.”
