NFL Week 15 picks up head-to-head developments: Who will win the best game?

Date:

  • A loss to the Bolts would be almost fatal for the defending AFC champions.
  • Three teams will qualify for the playoffs on Sunday.
  • Super Bowl previews could feature the Packers and Broncos competing for the No. 1 playoff seed.
  • Colts quarterback Philip Rivers could return to the field after a five-year absence.

Everyone goes up on deck.

We’re into Week 15 of the 2025 season, and the NFL’s bye week is exhausting. Week 15 is full of interesting matchups, even if Thursday night’s NFC South pairing between the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers isn’t one of them.

Sunday begins with the New England Patriots sweeping the Buffalo Bills, clinching the Pats’ first AFC East title in six years. Conversely, the Kansas City Chiefs will be fighting for a playoff spot as well as trying to avoid elimination this weekend as they host the Los Angeles Chargers at home, but a loss to the Bolts doesn’t mean it’s over for good.

The view from the train window in the evening is even more beautiful. The Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos are set to meet in a potential Super Bowl 60 preview, with both teams currently competing for the No. 1 seed in their respective conferences. The Detroit Lions will try to defeat the NFC-leading Los Angeles Rams on the road in an effort to get back into the projected playoff picture. (The Rams and Broncos could both qualify for the postseason with a win.) And while the Seattle Seahawks would be outrageous favorites to beat the Indianapolis Colts, their game could mark the return of the Colts’ newly signed QB Philip Rivers for the first time in five years.

The last two prime-time games featured national brands, even if they didn’t come across as great games. The Dallas Cowboys will face the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night as they look to advance to the postseason, while the Pittsburgh Steelers will remain in first place in the AFC North on Monday if they can defeat the rising Miami Dolphins.

What will the lineup be for 16 games? Here are the stories chosen by USA TODAY Sports’ panel of NFL experts.
