J.D. Vance says he’s ready to take office, but Trump is ‘in good health’
Vice President J.D. Vance said in an exclusive interview that although he is ready to take office, President Donald Trump is in “excellent health.”
President Donald Trump announced on November 30th that he will release the results of an MRI scan he underwent in October.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, President Trump said the results of an MRI scan were “perfect.” The president was returning to Washington, D.C. from Florida after spending Thanksgiving at Mar-a-Lago.
“If you want me to release it, I will release it,” Trump told reporters, adding that he had “no idea” what part of his body was tested.
“It was just an MRI,” he said. “What part of your body? I took a cognitive test and passed, so it wasn’t your brain.”
The president’s comments came after Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Nov. 30 that President Trump was “physically declining” and that his “mental capacity” was under scrutiny. Walz also called on President Trump to release the MRI results on X.
An MRI scan uses magnets and radio waves to create detailed images of the inside of your body. It can be used to monitor various conditions.
President Trump, 79, said he underwent an MRI scan at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on October 10, but neither he nor the White House would say which parts of his body were scanned.
The MRI scan was taken during President Trump’s second physical exam of the year.
President Trump visited Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on October 10th for his “semi-annual medical checkup.” He had his first medical check-up of the year in April.
A report released by the White House described President Trump’s visit as a “follow-up examination” and said it included “advanced imaging, laboratory tests, and preventive health assessments.” The report did not disclose the results of the imaging tests.
“President Trump continues to exhibit good overall health,” the report said. The report added that the president also received additional vaccinations for influenza and COVID-19 at the medical center.
Asked about the Oct. 27 MRI scan, President Trump told reporters, “Doctors have released some of the best reports of our time, some of the best reports I’ve ever seen.”
What health conditions has President Trump already been diagnosed with?
Earlier this year, the White House announced that Trump had swollen ankles and bruises on his right hand after he was photographed wearing make-up to cover up swollen ankles and bruises on his hands.
At the time, Trump’s doctor, Sean Barbavera, said in a letter released by the White House that tests confirmed the swelling in his legs was due to “chronic venous insufficiency,” a benign condition that is especially common in people over 70.
When Trump retook the White House in January, he became the oldest person to become president. He is the second oldest person to serve as president.
