AAA spokesperson offers Thanksgiving travel tips
AAA spokesperson Aisha Diaz spoke with USA TODAY and offered tips for travelers ahead of what will likely be the busiest Thanksgiving travel weekend ever.
The U.S. stock market will be closed on Thursday, November 27th.We will be closing early on Friday, November 28th due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
Both the Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchanges will be closed on Thanksgiving and will open on Nov. 28, but will close early at 1 p.m. ET. The U.S. bond market will also be closed Thursday and is scheduled to close at 2 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 28, according to the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association.
After the Thanksgiving holiday and early closing on Black Friday, Wall Street plans to continue business as usual through late December. The next scheduled stock market closure will be on Thursday, December 25th, due to Christmas. The market will also close early on Christmas Eve.
US stock market holiday schedule for 2025
In 2025, the U.S. stock market will be closed on the following days:
- Thanksgiving: Thursday, November 27th (market will also close at 1pm ET on November 28th)
- Christmas: Thursday, December 25th (market will also close at 1pm ET on December 24th)
