Police announced Tuesday, Nov. 25, that a Virginia high school football coach who disappeared last week is wanted on other charges related to possession of child pornography and solicitation of a minor.
Travis L. Turner, 46, of Appalachia, Virginia, has been missing since Thursday, Nov. 20 and is wanted on five counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of using a computer to solicit a minor, Virginia State Police confirmed to USA TODAY.
Additional charges are pending and the case remains under investigation, the agency said.
State police announced Tuesday that “police are actively searching for Mr. Turner.”
Turner is the head football coach at Union High School, which is in the midst of a perfect 12-0 season and is scheduled to play in the Virginia Region 2D championship game.
State police dispatched to Travis Turner’s home
Police said officers were dispatched to Turner’s home in Wise County on Thursday, Nov. 20, and while en route, they received word that Turner was no longer at the scene.
