Thanksgiving is this Thursday, so if you want to mail a package or make a bank transaction, you may have to wait until Black Friday.

Some grocery stores, restaurants and retail chains will be open on Thanksgiving, but banks and post offices will be closed. Delivery services such as UPS and FedEx will also no longer be available, the companies said.

Thanksgiving is a federal holiday and the stock market will be closed.

When is Thanksgiving and Black Friday in 2025?

This year’s Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 27th. Black Friday is the next day, Friday, November 28th.

Is the post office open on Thanksgiving and Black Friday? Will my mail be delivered?

According to the U.S. Postal Service website, post offices will be closed on Thanksgiving and no mail will be delivered.

The Post Office will resume retail trading on Friday, November 28th, with mail being delivered on the same day.

Are banks open on Thanksgiving and Black Friday?

Branches of banks including Bank of America, Trust, PNC, Capital One, Wells Fargo, Citibank and JPMorgan Chase will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, for Thanksgiving.

Banks will reopen with regular business hours on Black Friday.

Are delivery services like UPS and FedEx open on Thanksgiving and Black Friday?

UPS pickup and delivery services will not be available on Thanksgiving, and UPS Store locations may be closed, according to the company’s website. We recommend checking with your local store for specific business hours.

FedEx pickup and delivery services will also be unavailable and FedEx office locations will close on November 27th. FedEx Custom Critical is also available 24/7. For more information, call 1-800-762-3787.
