Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen appears to have been injured in the first quarter of the Buffalo Bills’ Thursday Night Football game against the Houston Texans.

The injury occurred when Allen was hit from behind by Texans defensive end Will Anderson while preparing to attempt a third-down pass.

Allen landed hard on his lower back and appeared to be in pain as he rolled around on the ground.

After being briefly treated by the team’s medical staff, Allen was able to get up on his own and walk to Buffalo’s sideline. He didn’t go to the blue medical tent right away. he sat on the bench.

Allen was able to return to the field on the ensuing Bills drive. Amazon Prime’s sideline reporter noted that Allen was treated for a wound to his left elbow, which he said was comparable to a turf burn.

After the Bills’ loss to the Texans, Allen mentioned the injury, saying his left shoulder was “a little numb” from the hit.

“My left shoulder was the only thing that felt a little numb,” he said. “We’re fine.”

Allen never missed an offensive snap while dealing with injuries.
