Kam Skatebo never avoids contact.
The New York Giants running back suffered a serious ankle injury that could cause him to miss the season, but that didn’t prevent him from competing on WWE Raw on Nov. 17 at Madison Square Garden.
Skatebo’s participation immediately drew the ire of many on social media, who were quick to point out his injury. The next day, the newcomer fired back at X’s post.
“Well, honestly, if you don’t like how I’m having a good time while dealing with tough times, feel free to unfollow me and move on,” Skatebo said. “Since I can’t play soccer and enjoy the things I’ve enjoyed all my life, I’m trying to think outside the box to find something that will make me happy. Enjoy the rest of your week. If you don’t have anything good to say, don’t talk about me.”
The Arizona State University product sat ringside during the event along with several teammates and comedian Andrew Schultz. It was then that the wrestling trio known as “Judgment Day” consisting of Finn Balor, J.D. McDonough, and Dominik Mysterio got into an altercation with the group.

The exchange ended in a shoving match, with Skatebo receiving a little extra contact in the scuffle.
Presumably participating in a wrestling match was not part of the rehab element for the rookie’s recovery, but it’s unclear whether the Giants will consider what happened.
Skatebo continued to maintain a presence around the team during his absence on the field. He returned to the facility immediately after surgery and attended the Oct. 29 meeting, according to then-head coach Brian Daboll.
The rookie also joined up with his teammates at MetLife Stadium in Week 11 and rode around on a scooter ahead of a game against the Green Bay Packers in New York.
The running back still has a long road to recovery, with NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reporting that he will be sidelined for four to six months.
Mr Skatebo required emergency surgery to repair a dislocated ankle. In the process, he also suffered a fractured fibula and torn deltoid ligament.
Skatebo’s injury is not expected to linger into the 2026 season. From now on, he will have to avoid extracurricular activities that could jeopardize his rehabilitation.
Even if it means having someone else defend New York’s championship drought.
