BAY LAKE, Fla. — It takes courage to take four kids to Walt Disney World.
That’s why after Kylie and Jason Kelsey had their fourth daughter, they brought reinforcements for their family of six’s first trip to Disney. Her parents and Jason’s mother also attended.
The family spent several days at the Disney World resort near Orlando, where Kylie Kelce recorded an episode of her podcast “Not Gonna Lie” in early November. Her mother-in-law, Donna Kelce, who recently moved to the city, also attended the show and joined her to visit the park.
“I think a lot of people look at me and see I have four kids and I understand that,” Kylie says. “But I’ve collected a few hacks over the years.”
Kylie calls them “Disney’s not-so-pro official tips.”
1. Every Ass Needs a Seat
Kelce’s children are 6, 4, 2 and 7 months old. She knows her little legs get tired. She brings a double stroller and a collapsible stroller that she can push under if needed. She also has a wearable carrier for her baby. Then each girl can sit down and take a break.
2. Stay on-site or nearby
Disney properties have buses and other transportation options, and many other hotels also offer shuttles, eliminating the need for families to rent a car or pay for parking. What’s more, the Kelce girls love the monorail.
“Transportation that doesn’t require them to give you a ride is a win in my opinion,” Kelce said.
3. Bring your grandparents.
“We love one-on-one coverage because it keeps everyone focused and paying attention, and more importantly, you don’t miss a moment,” says Kelce, who suggests enlisting the help of family and friends.
4. Plan special experiences for each child.
This could be a ride for older girls or a character experience for younger girls.
“Every child has moments that touch their heart, no matter how old they are. Ellie, 4, is still obsessed with princesses, and Benny loves snacks, so he keeps talking about Mickey pretzels,” she says.
Families have some favorite attractions, including the Moana-inspired Journey of Water.
“It’s one of the most underrated experiences in the park. You can actually play in the water. My girls talk about it every time they go home,” Kelce said. “There are a lot of different experiences so everyone can participate and interact. It’s a really fun time.”
