President Donald Trump on November 16 called on House Republicans to vote for the full release of the Jeffrey Epstein file, a stunning reversal of his previous warnings for Republicans not to fall into Epstein’s “trap.”

“House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein file because we have nothing to hide,” President Trump said in a post on Truth Social. “And it’s time to move on from this Democratic hoax perpetrated by the lunatics of the radical left to distract from the great successes of the Republican Party, including the recent Democratic ‘shutdown’ victory.”

He added that the Justice Department has “already turned over tens of thousands of pages” from the Epstein dossier and is examining “a variety of Democratic operatives” named in the files, including former President Bill Clinton, Reid Hoffman and Larry Summers.

President Trump said the House Oversight Committee “can have whatever it’s legally entitled to, I don’t care!”

President Trump has dismissed the uproar surrounding the Epstein scandal as a “hoax” pushed by Democrats. After the House Oversight Committee released more than 20,000 pages of Epstein’s emails on November 12, President Trump criticized House Democrats for releasing emails in which Epstein claimed Trump “knew girls” as Democrats lost the fight over the longest government shutdown in history.

The Trump administration’s decision not to release any more Epstein documents has sparked a backlash and increased calls by Congress to obtain the records. A petition seeking to release all Epstein documents has garnered enough signatures to force a vote on the issue in the House of Representatives.
