Four Kansas police officers were shot and injured while responding to a domestic violence incident around 10:30 a.m. on November 15, authorities said.
Three Osage County sheriff’s deputies and a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper were injured at the home just north of 113th Street and Topeka Boulevard, said Melissa Underwood, KBI public information director.
A male civilian, identified as the suspect by Col. Eric Smith, was killed. Another man was taken to a hospital and is believed to be in stable condition, Kansas Bureau of Investigation Director Tony Mattibi said.
The shooting scene is about 8 miles south of Topeka.
The names, ages and genders of the six people shot were not immediately released.
Details about the severity of the officers’ injuries have not been released.
