How much does an F1 car cost?
The exact cost of an F1 car depends on the overall setup. A set of wings costs about $200,000. Red Bull says some steering wheels can cost up to $50,000. The price of the engine could be as high as $10.6 million.
The price of the F1 car hovers around $15.9 million, but this is an estimate. According to Red Bull, the current price range for these racing cars could be between $12 million and $15 million.
F1 teams were allocated $145.6 million in spending during the 2022 season, but not all of it was spent on a single car. Instead, the money could be used to build the driver’s car. However, Red Bull said the budget also included other costs “with driver salaries and a few other exceptions”.
How fast can an F1 car run?
On average, F1 cars can reach speeds of just over 320 miles per hour. F1 cars can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds.
According to Red Bull, the official fastest speed for an F1 driver is 372.5 km/h, or approximately 231.46 mph. This record was set by Valtteri Bottas at the 2016 Mexican Grand Prix.
