Car Recalls: Why They Happen and What Buyers Should Know
Why do car recalls occur? Here’s what you need to know if your car has an open recall.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Toyota has recalled more than 1 million vehicles due to a defective rearview camera.
The Oct. 30 recall notice covers 1,024,407 Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru vehicles of more than 100 different models and years equipped with the Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) system. Vehicles that are impacted may have a blank or frozen rear view camera image when reversing, increasing the risk of a collision or accident.
The affected vehicles range from 2023 to 2020 and include popular models such as the Toyota Camry Hybrid, Toyota Highlander, Toyota RAV4, and Subaru Solterra.
