Ralphie Aversa highlights his best moments on the VMA red carpet
USA Today’s Ralphie Aversa recaps Kpop Demon Hunter sightings and red carpet date night at MTV’s VMA 2025.
“Ridiculousness,” the inevitable comedy clip show hosted by Rob Dyrdek, is coming to an end after 14 years, USA TODAY has confirmed.
The MTV series is scheduled to end after this season, according to a person familiar with the matter, who was not authorized to speak publicly. The network is turning its attention to more selective and experimental programming, including new formats and fresh voices.
No more original episodes will be produced, but previously filmed episodes will air until 2026. Reruns will also continue to air on MTV and stream on Paramount+.
Season 46 of the series began airing on October 12th.
“Ridiculousness” was hosted by the former skateboard star alongside comedian Sterling “Steelo” Brim and Lauren “Lolo” Wood, who replaced rapper Chanel West Coast in 2024, and featured viral videos and failed stunts with commentary. “Ridiculousness” has aired on MTV since 2011 and is one of the network’s longest-running shows.
The news comes after Bloomberg reported that MTV paid Dyrdek “at least” $32.5 million, according to bankruptcy court documents reviewed by the business press. If the series had been renewed in 2028 and 2029, he could have earned more than $45 million annually, the outlet reported. Dyrdek’s production company, Superjacket Productions, filed for bankruptcy last month.
MTV and Dyrdek’s relationship goes back much further than “Ridiculousness.” The entrepreneur appeared on Rob & Big with friend Christopher “Big Black” Boykin from 2006 to 2008, and Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory with Boykin and Chanel West Coast from 2009 to 2015.
A series of spinoffs from “Ridiculousness”, including “Amazingness,” “Messyness,” “Deliciousness” and “Adorableness,” did not reach the same level of staying power on the network.
