Popular beauty brand Huda Beauty has ended its partnership with “Love Island USA” Season 7 contestant Huda Mustafa following a recent racism scandal.

In an Instagram post shared on Oct. 31, the cosmetics company said one of its “recent collaborators” had “demonstrated behavior inconsistent with our company’s values.”

Mustafa went viral this week after a clip from a recent livestream with his Netflix Too Hot to Handle and Perfect Match partner Lewis Russell went viral on social media after a fan allegedly used a racial slur towards Mustafa’s Love Island co-star, model Orlando Carsen.

“We are truly disappointed by Huda Mustafa’s recent live performance and take all forms of racism very seriously,” they said in a statement. “While we do not believe her actions are reflective of her character, we found her extremely upsetting.”

“We know that many members of our community and team were hurt and offended by these actions.”

Huda Mustafa’s boyfriend Louis Russell’s livestream included racial slurs

During a recent livestream on Russell’s Instagram, Mustafa and Russell responded to a call from an unknown caller who used a racial slur directed at Carsen.

A video shared online by TMZ shows the pair laughing in shock and Russell ending the call by saying, “Hey, hey, hey.”

“As a result, we have decided to end our partnership and remove related content from our social platforms and in-store displays,” Huda Beauty said.

The company went on to say, “Accountability is critical in moments like this, and we hope it will lead to meaningful change.”

I will not let this moment deviate from my purpose of uplifting our community. I stand firm in who I am and will use this as an opportunity to demand true accountability and recognition.”

She pledged to personally donate to organizations that educate and uplift the black community, including UNCF, the NAACP, and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, and encouraged others to do the same.

“Olandria, it’s clear this comment was directed at you. I apologize for reacting so quickly. My reaction in that moment was not because I thought the words or the situation were funny, but because I was caught off guard. It was a nervous and uncomfortable reaction that I recognize was inappropriate,” she wrote.

“I want to be clear that I do not condone or tolerate anyone who uses language like this. I urge the individuals responsible to reflect deeply on their words and the harm they have caused.”

She added that she would personally donate to the NAACP and encouraged others to do the same.
