The Grammy-winning singer and outspoken pop star, 23, addressed income inequality and wealth disparity in a candid speech at WSJ in 2025. The Innovator Awards were presented on Wednesday, October 29th in New York City. Eilish won the Music Innovator Award, joining a star-studded roster that includes winners Ben Stiller, Spike Lee, Hailey Bieber and George Lucas.

“I love you all, but there are some people here who have way more money than I do,” Eilish said. “If you’re a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? No hate, but please donate your money, shorty.”

One billionaire likely to have heard Eilish’s call to action is Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. The social media mogul and Meta CEO, who reportedly has a net worth of $227.9 billion, was spotted attending the awards ceremony with his wife Priscilla Chan.

“We’re in a really, really bad, really dark time in the world right now, and people need empathy and help more than ever, especially in our country,” Eilish added, according to People magazine and Billboard. “If you have money, I think it’s good to use it for good and give it to people who need it.”

True to her word, Eilish’s comments come after it was revealed that Eilish made a major donation during her Hit Me Hard and Soft World Tour, which is scheduled to end on November 23rd after more than 100 concerts.

Prior to accepting the WSJ Innovator Award, talk show host and presenter Stephen Colbert announced that Eilish would donate $11.5 million from her tour proceeds to support “organizations, projects, and voices dedicated to food equity, climate justice, reducing carbon pollution, and combating the climate crisis,” People and Billboard reported.

Money isn’t the only thing on Eilish’s mind these days. In an interview with WSJ Magazine published on Wednesday, Oct. 29, the “Wildflower” songstress spoke candidly about making her tours more environmentally sustainable through practices like plant-based catering, biodegradable confetti, and using recycled cotton in the production of tour merchandise.

「文字通り、持続可能な素材を使ってすべて同じものを作ることができるのに、人々はそれをやっていないだけだ」とアイリッシュ氏は語った。 “The main thing I’ve learned while working with many companies and creating my own merchandise and perfumes is that actually anyone can do it. It’s just that most people don’t.”
