As the end of 2025 approaches, chicken finger chain Raising Cane’s continues to expand, opening stores in eight states in November.

restaurant announced plans to open 11 new stores, including on-site locations, between November 4th and November 18th. California, Pennsylvania, and for the first time even in Idaho.

Raising Cane’s told USA TODAY on Oct. 29 that the store opening is part of the chain’s plan to own and operate more than 1,600 locations nationwide and become a top 10 U.S. restaurant brand by the end of 2020.

The chain is known for its chicken fingers and “secret recipe” sugar cane sauce made with a special blend of spices. In 1996, co-founder Todd Graves named the company after his dog, a yellow Labrador retriever named Raising Cane (later known as Raising Cane I), who frequently spent time on construction sites.

Raising Cane I passed away in 1998, prompting the company to appoint a second mascot, Raising Cane II, who passed away in 2016. Chicken Restaurant’s third mascot, Raising Cane III, loves visiting Raising Cane restaurants and getting belly rubs from crew members, the company announced online.

Where will your new location be in November?

New locations are expected to open in Illinois, Michigan, Utah and other states, and local residents are planning a grand opening and ribbon cutting on November 18th.

In Virginia Beach, Raising Canes will hold grand opening activities on November 4th. That includes a “Lucky 20” drawing where 20 customers over the age of 13 will win free Raising Canes for a year. The company announced online that the first 100 customers who purchase a combo will receive a free box combo card to use on their next visit.
