Sidney Sweeney hasn’t completely ruled out wearing 007.
In an interview with Variety ahead of the screening of “Christie” at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the “Euphoria” actor was adamant about rumors that she would be the next Bond girl in a future film in the series.
“I can’t do that. I don’t know,” Sweeney said in an interview published on October 27. “To be honest, I don’t know all the Bond rumors.”
Based on the adventures of a secret agent from the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6), the story revolves around the title character, James Bond. The series, which began with Ian Fleming’s first novel, Casino Royale, in 1953, has spawned numerous film adaptations starring top-notch actors, including Daniel Craig, the final incarnation of Agent 007.
Ever since Craig’s reign as Britain’s leading spy ended with 2021’s No Time to Die, executives at Amazon MGM Studios and elsewhere have been determinedly searching for a new Bond who is being “reinvented.”
Sweeney, who is a “huge fan” of the series, is “excited and interested to see what they do with this series.”

Sidney Sweeney on James Bond series: ‘It depends on the script’
While the possibility of being involved in future productions is certainly appealing, the “Anyone But You” star said it ultimately “depends on the script.”
Speculation about Sweeney’s involvement in the series began in July, when reports circulated on social media that she was a front-runner to be the next “Bond girl.”
Idris Elba, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and even Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson have been fans on social media since Craig’s exit, and have previously expressed interest in playing Bond.
But one thing she’s sure of is that it’s “more fun” to play James Bond herself.
