Thanks to ChatGPT, this Michigan woman won a $100,000 lottery prize.

According to an Oct. 16 news release from Michigan Lottery Connect, Wyandotte resident Tammy Carvey bought a Powerball ticket from the Michigan Lottery website and asked the artificial intelligence software for the numbers to be drawn in the Sept. 6 drawing.

Carvey was surprised to find that he had four white balls and a red Powerball.

“When I checked the winning numbers, I saw that the four white balls matched the Powerball, so I knew I must have won something,” Carvey, 45, told lottery officials.

“Google told me the prize was $50,000, so I thought I won,” she said. “It wasn’t until I logged into my Michigan Lottery account that I realized I had added a power play to my ticket and actually won $100,000. My husband and I couldn’t believe it at all.”

What does Carvey plan to do with his winnings?

The Michigan Lottery said Carvey would take a chance on Powerball under special circumstances.

“The only time I play Powerball is when the jackpot is high, and the jackpot was over $1 billion, so I bought a ticket,” she told lottery officials.

Mr Carvey plans to use his winnings to pay off his home and save the rest. She lives in Wyandotte, about 25 miles from Detroit.
