“I Know What You Did Last Summer” is one of the must-see new movies on your favorite services like Netflix, Hulu, Peacock, and Amazon’s Prime Video. There are also several other films finally getting a domestic theatrical release, including Daniel Deadwyler’s action thriller, as well as a number of originals, including Hulu’s paranormal soap opera and Netflix’s harrowing true-crime documentary. There’s also one for those who can’t wait for the next Martin Scorsese jam.

“40 acres”

In this post-apocalyptic thriller, ex-soldier Haley Freeman (Daniel Deadwyler) runs a large farm more than a decade after a fungal pandemic and civil war changed civilization. However, due to her son’s mistake, Hayley is forced to scramble to save her family when they are suddenly surrounded by a group of cannibal invaders.

“Hiccup to Train Your Dragon”

One of the few live-action remakes that stay true to the anime original. Mason Thames plays a Viking teenager who befriends a dragon he supposedly hates in a revamped story that feels like a different experience than the first, with moments of wonder and awe, featuring characters fleshed out in new ways, both literally and figuratively.

Need some 1990s nostalgia? Original Last Summer stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. are returning for the slasher reboot. Their characters try to help when the Fisherman, a vicious menace brandishing a hook in the rain, returns to stalk yet another group of young men who have no respect for road safety.

“John Candy: I ​​Like Me”

Directed by Colin Hanks and produced by Ryan Reynolds, the documentary uses archival material and interviews with family and A-list friends to explore Canadian comedian John Candy as a person and an icon.
