‘Saturday Night Live’ reveals its newest hosts and musical guests.
NBC announced that Miles Teller will return to host the sketch show on November 1st, along with musical guest Brandi Carlyle. This will be the second time the “The Gorge” actor has hosted the show, following a rather memorable stint in 2022. Next week, comedian Nikki Glazer and Hollywood It Man star Glen Powell will make their first appearances, while Back to Friends singer Somber and British singer-songwriter Olivia Dean will provide music.
Season 51 of the variety series appeared to have ended successfully after several celebrities left the show ahead of the new season’s premiere.
Ego Nwodim most recently announced his departure after seven seasons, saying on September 12, “The hardest part of a great party is knowing when to say goodnight.” Heidi Gardner, who joined SNL in 2017, also left the show, as did cast members Devon Walker, Emil Wakim and Michael Longfellow.
“SNL” creator Lorne Michaels told Entertainment Tonight that while “it’s always tough when people leave,” change is “good” for the show. “And we’re really excited about the people we’re bringing in,” he added.
Comedians Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Ben Marshall, Cam Patterson and Veronica Slawkowska have been added to the cast of SNL Season 51.
The new season featured some memorable moments, including Bad Bunny being named (and criticized) as the headliner for the upcoming Super Bowl. This season saw the return of Amy Poehler as host and reunited with four other former and current “Weekend Update” anchors for “Jokes.” The night also featured a parody of “SNL” alumnus Pam Bondi, which drew a sharp response from the attorney general.
Sabrina Carpenter will star in a double role starting October 18th.
