New Yorkers know it, love it, and miss it. Snapple in a glass bottle is making a limited return to New York in honor of its birthplace in Brooklyn.
“There’s nothing more nostalgic than the beloved Snapple glass bottle. From the famous Snapple Lady to regular guest appearances on episodes of Next Door, Snapple has remained a household staple for decades,” the company said in a statement.
According to Snapple, the promotion is “all about the return of hometown heroes.” Snapple’s limited edition glass bottles will be available at select retailers and local bodegas in the New York area from October through December, or while supplies last.
The company, now known as Keurig Dr. Pepper, switched from glass to plastic for its bottles after a 2018 deal.
Here’s what you need to know, including where you can get your hands on an OG Snapple bottle or two.

Why was Snapple Phase’s glass bottle discontinued?
In a desire to be more sustainable, Snapple has begun phasing out the glass bottles and metal caps best known for creating its signature “pop.”
“We started by evaluating the bottle design and looking for areas where we could reduce weight and the amount of material used,” Snapple said.
Snapple began phasing out glass bottles in 2017, and will be “completely eliminating” them in 2021. As of October 31, 2020, all Snapple products are made from 100% recycled PET (rPET).
