A new TJ Maxx store could be opening soon.

More than a year after TJX parent company TJX CEO Ernie Herman announced a goal of opening at least 1,300 additional stores globally across TJX’s store portfolio in May 2024, the company will open six stores in five states in late October or early November, according to the company’s website.

TJX, which also oversees Marshalls, HomeGoods, Sierra and HomeSense stores, bills itself as an “off-price apparel and home fashion retailer.” The company was founded in 1976 and operates stores in nine countries on three continents, according to its website. The company said in its second-quarter earnings report that it owns and operates 1,340 TJ Maxx stores.

In an emailed statement to USA TODAY on Oct. 14, a TJX spokesperson said the company is opening 34 net new stores across all brands in the U.S., with more expected to open by the end of the year.

Here’s what you need to know about TJ Maxx opening in the coming weeks.

Which states will get new TJ Maxx locations?

According to the retailer’s website, the new stores are scheduled to open on the following dates and in the following locations:

  • October 19th: 192 Covenant Drive, Batesville, Mississippi
  • October 23rd: 80 Cobblestone Court Dr., Victor, New York
  • November 6th: 25959 Lorraine Rd., North Olmsted, OH
  • November 6th: 6384 Ridgewood Ct., Jackson, Mississippi
  • November 9th: 832 E. Main Street, Gardner, Kansas

In addition to the six stores mentioned above, TJ Maxx recently opened two more stores. One is located at 2121 Claribel Road in Riverbank, California, and the other is located at 265 S. Broadway, Unit 4 in Salem, New Hampshire.
