As of September 29th, more than 400 Starbucks locations have been closed across the US as Seattle-based coffee retailers aim to implement operational changes.

The closure is part of a “Back to Starbucks” strategy founded by former Chipotle CEO Brian Nicole, who became Starbucks’ CEO in September 2024.

The coffee chain didn’t provide a list of US locations to close, but it is expected that 18,300 coffee shops will fall from 18,734 by the end of September, according to its latest quarterly revenue report.

The latest round of closure comes just after Starbucks announced it would close 80-90 “pickup” stores in more than 20 states.

This is what you need to know.

Where will Starbucks be closed?

Although the company did not release a list of closures, USA Today has compiled a running list through local media coverage, Starbucks’ own location list and detailed reviews compiled by Starbucks employees.
