Things you need to know about the shooters and victims at the Dallas Ice Detention Center
New details have been revealed about the suspects and victims of the Dallas Ice Detention Center shooting. At least one of the victims was a Mexican national.
The names of the three victims, photographed by snipers at the Dallas Ice Field office, were identified by USA Today by a senior homeland security agency who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Two days after the fatal shooting on September 24th, one ice detainee died and two injured, and US immigrants and customs enforcement have not made the names of the victims public. However, senior DHS officials provided USA Today with the victim’s name and alleged criminal history.
Officials did not specify which of the victims died or the extent of the injury to the two surviving injured. One of the victims was a Mexican national, the other a Venezuelan national, and the other victim’s nationality was not released.
One was identified as Mexican Angel Garcia Hernandez, a senior official said. He is said to have been convicted of giving fictitious information, avoiding arrest, driving while drunk and fleeing police.
On September 26, the family of the man identified as Miguel Angel Garcia posted a GoFundMe account and identified him as one of the seriously injured victims at the ice facility that shot him in Dallas. The account seeks help with the father and husband “in a critical condition.”
Two additional victims were listed in the DHS source. They are Jose Andres Baudones Molina and Nolan Guzman Fuentes of Venezuela, whose nationalities have not been identified.
Bordones-Molina has a criminal history, including property theft and traffic crimes. Guzman-Fuentes exacerbates the previous arrests of batteries, inappropriate display of firearms and dangerous weapons, criminal mischief, driving while drunk and attacks with deadly weapons.
The lack of information about injured detainees has led to widespread frustration among supporters who claimed that the detainee’s injuries were overlooked.
Garcia Hernandez, 32, is in danger, and his family spoke to the Spanish Network University, who said he grew up in Arlington, Texas, and has lived in the country for over 20 years. He originally came from San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
His relatives told the Spanish news outlet that he was shot multiple times in his side, in the back and in his neck.
This is a developing story.
