Grocery delivery from discount supermarket chain Aldi is now available on Uber Eats.
The partnership announced on September 25th will allow Uber Eats users to deliver directly to their front doors from one of Aldi’s over 2,500 US stores. Delivery options include most in-store products, including Aldi branded label products and limited-edition Aldi Finds Aisle items in the store.
“We know there are a lot of people who are big Aldi fans, so adding choices and products to the platform is really exciting,” Rebecca Payne, group product manager for Uber, grocery and retail, told USA Today.
The supermarket chain is the first platform to accept SNAP-EBT payments from day one. (Other partners have begun accepting SNAP perks, previously known as food stamps, after their first launch on the app.)
Aldi streaming is also available from Doordash and Instacart.
To celebrate the new partnership, Uber Eats is offering 40% off Aldi orders of at least $30, using the code Aldiuber25 to save up to $25.
Uber Eats also announced a weekly “fresh day” deal every Tuesday, giving you 30% off certain produce, meat, dairy and eggs, with 30% off every Tuesday from Aldi and other retailers. Uber One membership offers $0 shipping fees on eligible orders and other discounts, but costs $9.99 per month or $96 per year.
The announcement comes as higher food prices narrow shoppers. The Bureau of Labor Statistics found that grocery prices rose 0.6% from July to August, the fastest monthly rate change since October 2022.
“We see these high grocery prices, especially with these fresh items,” Payne said. “At Uber, we’re looking at what we can do to improve the affordability of our platform.”
