WASHINGTON – Former Vice President Kamala Harris said he has not focused on the 2028 presidential election after rejecting a California governor’s bid.

Harris was asked in an exclusive interview on September 22 by MSNBC host Rachel Madow whether she would consider running for president in 2028.

“That’s not my focus right now. It’s not my focus. It’s not my focus. It’s not really,” Harris said.

Her remarks, after she announced in July that she would not run for California governor, said “for now, my leadership and public services are not in the elected office,” and that she “helps electing Democrats across the country who are fighting horribly.”

When the announcement pushed whether she had said she would never run for another office again or not for California governor, Harris said, “It was my previous decision and I made the decision not to run for California governor.”

“By the way, there are a lot of great candidates running,” she said.

Madou’s interview with Harris came exactly one day before Harris’ memoir, “107 Days.”
