Earlier this year, the Social Security Agency (SSA) said it would begin withholding 50% of recipients’ monthly checks to compensate for overpayments issued in past payments.

The agency began issuing overpayment notices in April, saying it would withhold 50% of recipient benefits after about 90 days (or about July 24th, or about July 24th) until the overpayment is repaid.

Who will receive Social Security payments this week?

According to the SSA payment calendar, beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th day of their birth month will receive monthly Social Security benefits on Wednesday, September 17th.

When will Social Security payments be sent?

Social Security benefits are paid primarily to older or retired recipients, but are usually paid on Wednesdays.

According to the SSA calendar, if the recipient’s birth date is between the first and tenth of the month, a payment will be issued on the second Wednesday of the payment month.

According to the SSA payment calendar, recipients born between the 11th and 20th will be paid on the third Wednesday, while recipients born after the 20th of the month will be paid on the fourth Wednesday.

Those who receive Social Security by May 1997 can expect to pay on the third day of the month, unless they do not pass on weekends or holidays.

Those who receive both Social Security and Supplementary Security Income (SSI) can expect to pay Social Security on the third day of the month and SSI on the first day of the month.

SSI Payment Schedule for the remaining August of 2025 and 2026

The recipient of the Supplemental Security Income Check must receive the payment on the first business day of the month (September 1, 2025). However, since September 1st, Labor Day has been issued on August 29th.

According to the SSA calendar, the SSI check will be sent on the next dates in 2025 and early 2026.
