Local Ohio State Assemblyman says he and his family are hiding in the advice of federal officials after he and his family pose more than 500 threats in his Facebook post criticizing Charlie Kirk.
John Impellizzeri told the USA Today Network’s Akron Beacon Journal that he feared his life after his post was shared nationwide by “Tiktok’s Libs” and other right-wing groups following the assassination of a conservative leader.
The threat escalated after it was shared on September 12th on X by Stephen Miller, the Trump administration’s Chief of Policy Staff Director.
“I’m physically hidden for fear of my life,” Imperizeli said. “The police station is receiving death threats.”
A member of the Munro Falls Police Department told the Beacon Journal that the department is not under threat and is unaware of the threat to the city. Police representatives refused to provide his name or position.
Although Impellizzeri’s Facebook account has since been deactivated, screenshots of the posts have been widely circulated on social media.
In the post, Imperizeli questions why the “right” who “want blood” and “right wing” did not speak out after Kirk’s death after the attack on the Democrats. The post ends with the statement, “Now that he is gone, the world is a better place.”
What did Imperizeli say about his post, the assassination of Charlie Kirk?
Impellizzeri said that while he was meant to criticize what Kirk said in his lifetime, he was not intended to tolerate Kirk’s murder. He added that while the bottom of his post is widely shared, the section consists only of the “third” of the post.
He said he deactivated his Facebook account and could not share the rest of the post with the Beacon Journal.
“I’m not celebrating his death,” Imperizeli said. “I never have — I never will.”
Impellizzeri said he was “100%” for violence.
“The assassination of Charlie Kirk was horrifying,” he said. “…It was murder. It was completely unacceptable.”
Impellizzeri said that Kirk is not a “good person”, but he simply states his view that he does not tolerate murder. He said he hopes the shooter will be charged.
Authorities arrested and arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson as suspect in the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
“There are a lot of left-wing nut jobs celebrating his death. …I’m not one of them,” Imperizeli said.
Kirk supporters and Munro Falls community members are critical of Imperizeli
Social media denounces the wide range of afferizzeri in the distance and calls for his resignation.
Post from the Facebook group “Stow/Munroe Falls Talk of the Town!” “For those who live in Munroe Falls and are as frightening as the post about John Imperitellis’ Charlie Kirk, the Council’s meetings are the first and third Tuesday of the month. He is the current Councillor of Munroe Falls:/”
“He needs to resign,” Tiktok’s right-winger Libs posted on X.
A Facebook post by a woman with nearly 400,000 followers on her page includes the same statement as Libs on the Tiktok Post to post right-wing content. According to her page, she lives in Atlanta.
The Facebook group, “The World’s Largest Trump Support Group,” states that the phone number is listed on the Impellizzeri page on the Munroe Falls City website.
The Trump Support Group post shared a screenshot of Miller’s X Post. This stated, “we have never even started to address the fact that a large part of our society is completely and dangerously radicalised by a closed circuit of fundamental left propaganda.”
Impellizzeri claims more threats to cities, communities
Impellizzeri also said the Munroe Falls Fire Department and other community members are under threat from those who claim he has directly threatened community members.
“They went to the city centre and took pictures of the buildings, facilities and capabilities,” Imperizeli said. “When people confronted these photographers, all they say is, ‘You’re next’ and leave. ”
Munro Taki city receptionist said requests for additional comments to city hall, police station and fire stations must go to city representatives who are not available until September 15th.
Impellizzeri said he didn’t know how long he was hiding.
He said he had not slept within 36 hours due to the threat he endured.
