Barnes & Noble is set to open 60 new locations
Barnes & Noble is making a massive comeback with over 60 new stores scheduled to open across the US in 2025.

Barnes & Noble is expanding its physical footprint to reach more readers.
After more than 15 years of store numbers, the bookstore plans to open more than 60 new locations across the US in 2025, following a period of “strong sales” at existing stores.
34 stores – Showing the opening of books, toys, games and gifts customers expect from Barnes & Noble since the beginning of 2025. Although not most, the newly opened bookstore features a B&N Café.
Another 31 bookstores, which are “relocations” of previously closed locations, may have come to your nearby cities by December, with Burns & Noble saying, “There’s so much more in 2026!”
Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Inc. BI Acquisition Co., LLC, a affiliate of , is set to acquire Bankruptcy California-based bookstore Books Inc. for $3.25 million.
“It’s an exciting time for us,” Burns & Noble said in a statement. “Sales in new stores with new designs and formats are beyond predictions, people line up around the block for opening and expect a great holiday season with a strong fall publishing.”

Which state will the next Barnes & Noble Opening Store?
In 2025, Burns & Noble opened bookstores in 22 states: Washington, Florida, California, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Nebraska, Massachusetts, Michigan, Illinois, Connecticut, Illinois, Ohio, Arizona, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Maryland, Tennis;
Some states, like Washington and Connecticut, hosted multiple grand openings.
Additional stores will open in Washington, Louisiana, California, Tennessee, Idaho, Florida, New York, Connecticut, Texas, Colorado, Michigan, DC, Ohio and Pennsylvania, according to the bookstore. Again, some states have multiple locations.
