  • Angie Foley owns Roussorber in the Upper Peninsula, Michigan, and purchased the nearby landmark Redburn earlier this year.
  • Approximately 18 vehicles were auctioned off from the collection, including many rare barn discovery cars.

Angie Foley had a vision to change the barn in Michigan, which she bought earlier this year, but first she had to clean it up.

That effort would mean new owners of some of the classic barn-acquisition cars that have been “hidden” for decades.

The 18 vehicles aren’t in order, but Foley, 53, said he hopes it will become someone else’s restoration project following the auction held last week.

“I may not be a car guy, but I can be grateful to save something,” she said.

While the 1962 Cadillac Haase may be most interesting, Foley’s personal favorite is the 1941 Buix Special, featuring a “very clean” Frosty Green straight 8 engine.

They were drawn from Redburn. Redburn was drawn from a local landmark in the early 1900s in this small community southwest of the Kanewar Peninsula. It is located near another local landmark, Roussauber.

Foley is the 10th owner of the bar and bought it in 2012 along with her current ex-husband. She is the town supervisor and former clerk. The bar is her full-time gig. She said the town has a voting population of around 58.

The bar is preparing to celebrate its 90th anniversary next year, and Foley said it is a destination with bent floors and ceilings that visitors write about, especially during deer season. Foley, a native of Vicksburg, south of Kalamazoo, said he began coming to the area in the 1980s. Her father was a Michigan Bell lineman, and some of his colleagues were hunters.

Cadillac spirit hearse from the auction is also part of local lore, Foley said. A man named Clarence, one of the bar’s clients years ago, is said to have rode it when he performed his funeral before he passed away. Morley Stannard, the owner of the bar at the time, was the man who, along with his wife Sophie, gathered many of the classic cars from the auction.

Some of the 18 vehicles are more recent than Spirit Hearse and Buick. For example, some GMC and Dodge Ram Pickups in the 1990s — but we welcome the 1956 Hudson Hornet and 1958 Hudson Hornet, including the 1956 Hudson Hornet, the 1956 Hudson Hornet, the 1956 Hudson Hornet, the 1956 Hudson Hornet, the 1956 Hudson Hornet, the 1956 Hudson Hornet, the 1956 Hudson Hornet, the 1956 Hudson Hornet, the 1956 Hudson Hornet, the 1958 Hudson Hornet, the 1956 Hudson Hornet, the 1956 Hudson Hornet, the 1956 Hudson Hornet, the 1958 Hudson Hornet, the 1956 Hudson Hornet, the 1956

Foley, who wants to turn the barn into space for weddings and other events, initially thought the Hornet would become a “money car,” but said there is no “racing engine.” But it’s still a cool car, she said. She said the dated red and one white, one white, and one white Marlins will become cool muscle cars.

Foley received several calls about others, including the old Chevrolet suburbs that “sunned midway through Wheelwell.” Many of the vehicles were protected and protected, but for years, the moisture underneath caused rusty concrete and crushed stone pieces to be parked.

It was a day-long process, simply taking the car out of the barn.

Foley doesn’t maintain any of them, but she decides to keep another type of classic that is part of the Apache pop-up camper van, which is part of a massive haul of bones, car parts and other items.

Foley was a lot of work preparing for the auction, and it was a bit of a learning curve, but she was excited and nervous about the future.

“I know now that the discovery of the barn is a big deal, so I didn’t know that,” she said.

But this is a real deal, she said, despite the fact that the cars don’t run “it’s more than a part car and if someone could save them.”
