Protesters call President Trump “Hitler of our time” at the DC Restaurant.
WASHINGTON – A group of protesters stand up to President Donald Trump at a local restaurant in D.C., chanting “Free Palestine” and calling Trump “Hitler of our time.”
The incident came after Trump, Vice President J.D., Secretary of Defense Pete Hegses and Secretary of State Marco Rubio entered Joe’s seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab, a few blocks from the White House, on the evening of September 9th.
Trump told reporters he was eating out to show how safe DC has become since the federal crackdown on crime.
However, according to a video clip shared on X, Trump met with activists from grassroots group code pink. Activists were yelling, “Free DC, Free Palestine, Trump are Hitler of our time.”
Trump stood in front of the protesters, smiled a little and signaled security to escort activists from the restaurant. When they were being led, they argued that Trump was “terrifying Gaza and the community around the world.”
Last month, Trump deployed National Guard troops to crack down on DC crime. This was attacked against former government efficiency staff that occurred during the August 3rd carjacking attempt. Trump has also ordered the federal government to take control of Washington’s metropolitan police station.
“We’re reclaiming the capital,” Trump said on August 11th. “We’re getting it back.”
Crime rates in Washington have fallen compared to 2024. Violent crime is 26% lower than last year. Statistics compiled by the Metropolitan Police Department show that murders have fallen by 12%.
Trump told reporters on September 2 that there is no crime in DC. “You can go and actually walk with your children, your wife, your husband, you can walk in the middle of the street. You will not be shot,” he said.
White House spokesman Caroline Leavitt said in a statement that Trump and his team “enjoyed crab, shrimp, salad, steak and dessert” at the restaurant.
