Massie and Khanna say they’re voting for the release of the Epstein file

The potential release of the file became a political lightning rod after the Justice Department announced in July that it had not revealed a list of Epstein’s clients and had not planned further disclosures.

WASHINGTON – Thomas Massie of R-Kentucky and Ro Khanna of D-California have expressed optimism about their ability to force the release of inconsistencies in Justice’s Department of Files with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

“We have a vote,” Kanna told ABC News on September 7th.

“I think we’re going to get an overwhelming vote for this,” Massy told Stephanopoulos in the same program.

Republican and Democrat organizers behind the petition to force a House vote on the release of the file said it must be concerns that Sen. John Toon, R-South Dakota, may try to block Senate legislation or that the Justice Department may try to scrub information about Republicans and other alliances before the documents are released.

“I think (Thune) will be under more pressure than he notices,” Massy told Stefanopuuros. “He should do the right thing.”

Kanna said a career government employee and at least one lawyer were looking at Epstein’s accuser. This would make it difficult for the Justice Department to scrub documents to protect President Donald Trump’s friends and allies who resisted the call for a full release of the file. Trump and Epstein were friends for over a decade, from the 1990s to the early 2000s.

The potential release of the file became political lightning after the Justice Department announced in a July memo that it was unable to reveal a list of clients who may have joined in a ring that trafficked sex with Epstein and did not plan for further disclosure.

The announcement follows years of Trump Alliance proposals that Democrats engage in cover-up of Epstein’s fellows who may have taken part in his crimes, and that Trump as president would bring greater transparency to the incident.

Attorney General Pam Bondy reportedly told Trump in the spring that he was named on the file. Epstein has been associated with a wide variety of rich and powerful people over the years, including not only Trump but President Bill Clinton. In the sense that the file is named or associated with Epstein, it does not mean anyone engaged in fraud.
