Porsche is a brand that is deeply ingrained in tradition, but it never stops its invention. It’s a difficult dichotomy to bridge, but the new 2025 911 Carrera GTS achieves it beautifully.

Advanced features such as hybrid power, electric assist turbocharge and rear steering coexist in sports cars with branded pillars such as the profile, which have evolved over 60 years to make the 911 GTS thrilling easily.

Here we look at some of the features that are relentlessly modern, but undoubtedly faithful to the Porsche 911 lineage.

The second electric motor does so what?

The 2025 911 Carrera GTS is Porsche’s first hybrid. What took so long?

Adding technology created to reduce fuel consumption to 911 will enhance performance rather than degrade.

The GTS powertrain consists of a 3.6L opposing horizontal six-cylinder engine that produces 478 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. Producing 53 hp and 110 pound feet, the electric motor is built into the case of the GTS’ smooth, fast, dual-clutch eight-speed transmission.

Total system power is 532 hp and 449 lb-ft of torque. If you’re new to this, the numbers will not be added for rounding. Also, because gasoline and power sources do not peak at the same moment. Before the gasoline engine reaches stride, electric motors and electric assist turbochargers are useful for improving power and performance with low engine revs.

The small electric motor supports turbochargers with exhaust gases from the engine.

The motor allows for faster turbo power boosting. Deliverables include instant power when mashing gasoline pedals at any speed, from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds. The electric assist turbo is based on the system of Porsche’s 919 LMP1 prototype race car.

Porsche calls it an electronic turbo and calls the entire epic setup the Thybrid.

Chassis Magic

The rear wheel steering is standard on the GTS model. One of the best features that drivers don’t know about is that you may not know that RWS increases high speed stability and reduces turning radius. Combined with the 911’s variable-ratio power steering, the result is accurate, predictable steering and intuitive maneuverability.

From city streets to fast-moving highways and winding country roads, the GTS I drove for a week, slipping and shifting on 20-inch front/21-inch rear Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. The interior was quiet with a high speed, rough surface, and the 12-speaker, 570-watt Bose audio system worked brilliantly.

The 1.5 inch front axle lift helps clear speed bumps and driveway entries to protect the front splitter.

The adaptive underbody front diffuser directs air to minimize drag and to increase engine cooling as needed.

The GTS gets stiffer springs, specially tuned dampers and anti-roll bars to compensate for the extra weight of the hybrid system.

Attractive and easy to use interior

My GTS has rear storage and parcel shelves for the 4.8 cubic feet of front trunk, creating a stunning space to secure a large Detroit-style pizza pair on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

The 12.6-inch equipment cluster is completely digital and presents performance pages with clear maps, speed, torque curves, G-force and more. The 10.9-inch display handled Infotainment, Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and more.

Controls included a small number of physical controls in the center stack, including volume, fan temperature, exhaust modes, and adjustable impact.

The steering wheel has an intuitive stem for adaptive cruise control.

The traditional ignition on the left side of the steering wheel is replaced by a start/stop button. This is a wonderful renewal of Porsche heritage.

Why buy the 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS?

Few vehicles around the world match the performance, looks and technology of the GTS.
