Why food recalls are on the rise
E. coli, metals, and even dead bats have been found in recalled foods. In fact, food recalls are on the rise. But that may actually be a good sign. This is why.

Endico potatoes in Mount Vernon, New York reminded me of frozen vegetables due to the potential contamination by Listeria.
Listeria Monocyte Genes The recall announcement posted on the Food and Drug Administration website states that it is “a creature that can cause serious infections, such as young children, frail or elderly people.”
According to the recall notice, mixed vegetable bags sold under the Endico brand and mixed vegetable bags sold under the Endico brand have been recalled after Pennsylvania conducted at distributors and revealed the presence of bacteria. No recall-related illnesses have been reported.
The product was positive for bacteria, causing it to stop distribution. The FDA and Endico are investigating the causes of the contamination.
What’s been recalled?
The following products sold under the Edico brand have been recalled in accordance with the FDA:
- Peas and carrots
- Many-110625
- Production date– June 11, 2025
- Used by date– June 10, 2027
- Mixed vegetables
- Many-170625
- Production date– June 17, 2025
- Used by date– June 16, 2027
The check code is printed on the side of the bag to check if it matches the recalled product.
In which states were frozen vegetables sold?
Vegetables were sold in the following areas:
- connection
- Florida
- new york
- New Jersey
- Pennsylvania
- Maryland
- Washington DC
When did frozen vegetables go on sale?
Local distributors sold the products from July 18th to August 4th, as stated in the notice.
What should I do if I buy a recalled product?
Anyone who purchases recalled products is asked not to consume them and return them to their purchase location for a full refund.

Symptoms related to Listeria Monocyte Genes
Listeria is particularly harmful to people whose immune system is weakened or not fully developed but may affect healthy people.
According to the recall notification, people may experience the following symptoms if they are infected with Listeria:
- High fever
- Severe headache
- rigidity
- nausea
- abdominal pain
- diarrhea
Who is at the highest risk of Listeria?
Infection can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant people.
If you contract a listeria infection, the following groups are at most at risk:
- Pregnant woman and fetuses/newborn baby
- Adults over 65 years old
- People with weakened immune systems such as transplant patients, or with illnesses such as HIV/AIDS, cancer, diabetes, or autoimmune diseases
Report a possible infection
Those who have infected them and would like to report complaints or foodborne illnesses caused by bacteria can call the FDA’s primary emergency number at 888-SAFEFOOD (888-723-3366) or report the FDA Safety Reporting Portal online.
Those who wish to report the event can complete an electronic voluntary Medwatch form online or mail a paper voluntary Medwatch form to the FDA.
