Trader Joe’s Viral Mini Tote is back
Trader Joe’s viral mini canvas tote bag that caused a frenzy last year is back.
It may be time to check out the freezer, pizza lovers, especially if you have purchased a pie from Trader Joe in the past few months.
A batch of unfrozen, unexploded, unexploded pepperoni pizza products sold at Trader Joe’s stores in California was subject to an August 29 public health warning from the US Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Services.
According to the notice, products imported from Italy “did not benefit from the reexamination of imports.”
“This issue was discovered when FSIS was notified by Trader Joe’s company. We discovered that Frozen NRTE’s NRTE Uncured Pepperoni Pizza products were not presented for import re-inspection of FSIS,” said USDA’s Food Safety Inspection Service.
No recalls were requested in connection with the affected product, as it is no longer possible to purchase, but agents are concerned that some products may be in the consumer freezer.
There have been no confirmed reports of diseases or side effects from consumption of these products.
What you need to know about the affected products is to include what you should do if you find it in your freezer.
