“Saturday Night Live” is gaining new blood.
Sketch Show added five featured players in its 51st season in the fall. NBC announced it on September 2nd.
Heiling comes to the heels of “SNL” where he loses several members of the cast. Recently, Devon Walker, Michael Longfellow and Emile Wakim have announced their exits. The three manga took part in the show from 2022 to 2024. Wakim described his departure as a “gut punch” in an Instagram post.
Reports from several outlets, including Variety and the Hollywood Reporter, also said that longtime cast member Heidi Gardner would leave after eight seasons, but she has yet to confirm the exit.
Meet five new cast members from “SNL” below.
Tommy Brennan
Brennan is a Minnesota comedian who rose to life in June for “Tonight’s Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” He wrote on Instagram to respond to employment news. “This isn’t real, but I’ll see you guys on Saturday!”
Jeremy Calhan
Culhane is a California-born comedian who performs on upright citizen brigade comedy groups and dropout television. He has also appeared on shows such as “The Sex Live of Collegeright” and “American Vandal.”
Ben Marshall
Marshall is a Georgia comedian who previously joined SNL as a writer in 2021. He appears on the show as part of Don’t Destroy, a comedy trio that produces digital shorts.
Veronika Slowikowska
Slowerikowska is a comedian from Ontario, Canada, and appeared in the forex comedy “What We Do the Shadows” and the Shane Gillis Netflix series “Tires.”
Cam Patterson
Patterson is a Florida comedian who starred in the comedy podcast “Kill Tony” and played a role in the upcoming Netflix film “72 Hours.”
“Saturday Night Live” marks the 50th season of the landmark, which includes Mayardolph and Danakar Bay, starring former Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Joe Biden. The 50th anniversary was commemorated in February with a Prime Time Special.
Prior to the 2024 “SNL” season 50, three new cast members have been added to the cast: Wakim, Ashley Padilla and Jane Wickline.
It was not immediately clear whether the additional “SNL” star would leave ahead of the new season.
Creator Lorne Michaels previously teased the cast’s shakeup in an interview with Puck. When asked if he felt pressured to “reinvent” in the new season, Michaels said, “Yeah, certainly.” However, Michaels confirmed that James Austin Johnson will return and continue playing President Donald Trump.
“SNL” Season 51 will premiere on October 4th. No hosts and music guests have been announced for the season premiere.
