Some Starbucks customers can quickly select another item when ordering their favorite caffeinated drink.
The coffee chain, announced on Tuesday, September 2nd, will offer all coffee houses in the US and Canada with a new line of protein cold foam and protein lattes made from protein-fortified milk from September 29th.
Starbucks said in a news release that the latte and cold foam are 15-36 grams of protein (16 ounces) per grande, and that the drink is part of the company’s “strategy to promote innovation and modernize the menu.”
Customers can add protein cold foam to any cold drink, the company said, and the foam will be served in a variety of flavors, including new banana flavors, sugar-free vanilla and chocolate.
Additionally, customers can add protein boost milk to any beverage where milk is part of the recipe, including lattes, ice-shake espresso and coconut milk refreshes.
“When we return to Starbucks, we are focused on modernizing our menu with innovative, relevant and hype-worthy products that resonate with our customers,” Tressie Leiberman, Starbucks’ global chief brand officer, said in a news release. “Our new protein drinks take advantage of the growing consumer demand for protein in an innovative, premium and delicious way that only Starbucks can offer.”

Starbucks’ most popular seasonal drinks – Available in hot, iced and blends, PSL is made with real pumpkin flavors, pumpkin-related spices (including cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves), Starbucks signature espresso and steamed milk. The drink is topped with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spices.
Also, Starbucks’ fall menu has revived favorites such as pumpkin cream cold brew, iced pumpkin cream chai and pecan crunch oatmill crate.
