A theme park statement revealed that wandering on a monorail track in Hershey Park was soon rescued and reunited with his family.

According to a statement from Hersheypark spokesperson Quinn Breiner, the child was separated from his parents and was reported missing around 5:05pm on August 30th. The child entered a safe area for the monorail and passed the chained closure and barricade turnstyle at the entrance. The monorail was not in operation at the time.

The child was at a closed station about 20 minutes ago before it was discovered to be walking along a monorail track that was suspended well above the ground. Videos of the incident posted on social media show guests at the park screaming for children from underneath. One guest will eventually climb onto the truck to pick up the kids.

Breiner confirmed that the guests “quickly realized and helped lead the child to safety,” and said the boy was reunited with his family unharmed at about 5:28pm.

“We appreciate the vigilance of our guests and the prompt response of our team, and we are still committed to maintaining the highest level of guest safety across Hershey Park,” Breiner said.
