California Gov. Gavin Newsom says he believes President Donald Trump will take over his constitutional term in 2028 and will use federal agents to equip future elections in the favor of him and his Republican supporters.

The newspaper, which confirmed that he might run for president in 2028, has become one of Trump’s Democrats’ most powerful and visible critics. He gave what appears to be his most broad and complete warning about the current president and the state of American democracy in an August 27, 48 interview at Politico’s California Agenda: Sacramento Summit.

The United States said it is on the cliff of a shift towards authoritarianism because of actions taken by Trump, including using federal immigration agents as “the largest private police in history,” for his own political interests.

Repeatedly urged the audience to “wake up,” Newsom said the American rule of law was “replaced with Don’s rules,” warning Trump and his administration would send federal agents to polling stations and voting booths around the country in future elections.

Newsom also believes Trump wants to take office, questioning whether there will be any future democratic elections.

“I don’t think Donald Trump wants another election,” he told Politico moderators. “I have 20 20 Trump 2028 hats that his people keep sending me.”

“Who will spend $100 million on your ballroom and then leave the house?” Newsom says the 90,000-square-foot ballroom Trump is building in the White House to entertain him.

When asked if he imagined a showdown between Newsom and Trump in 2028, the California governor denied his own intentions.

However, Newsom said of Trump: “Do you think he’s kidding about 2028? I think he’ll take a foreign leader to an oval office and he’ll go to the White House store… and he’s showing his 2028 hat?”

“I’ll wake up,” he told the audience. If that weren’t stopping Trump’s attacks on democracy, he said, “You’ll lose your country.”

Recently, Newsom has won headlines and greater social media to attack Trump more aggressively through the Governor of X.

The 22nd amendment to the US Constitution, ratified in 1951, explicitly limits the president to two terms of office. According to US Constitution scholars, the rule was established following Franklin D. Roosevelt’s fourth-term President.

Before that, they said the two-term tradition was an unwritten rule set by George Washington when he resigned after the second term.

Earlier this month, Trump said this month that he would probably not run in the unconstitutional third term. However, he openly messed with the idea, informing foreign leaders that he visited him in the White House and that his supporters were showing him a “Trump 2028” hat, saying they wanted him to do it.

In his political interview, Newsom described the moment at a 90-minute oval office meeting with Trump in February, when Trump pointed to a Roosevelt painting. Newsom interpreted Politico as reporting as a nod to Trump’s desire to serve a third term.
