President Donald Trump prayed, spoke with Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz and ordered the flag to be flew at the half-mast in response to a shooting at a school in Minneapolis.

On August 27, the shooter fired fire at the home of a Catholic school, home to the Catholic school, just before celebrating the school’s first morning, according to Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara. Two children were killed and 17 were injured in the attack.

The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Robin Westman, who died at the scene of a self-harmed gunshot wound.

What did Trump say about the attack? Here’s what you need to know:

Trump spoke with Gov. Tim Waltz and ordered a flag at the half-mast

“We’ve been fully explained about the tragic shooting in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The FBI responds quickly and they’re on the scene,” Trump said on August 27th in Truth Society. “The White House will continue to monitor this horrible situation.

According to Poole’s report, Trump also spoke with Waltz, who ran on a Democrat ticket as former vice president Kamala Harris’ running buddy in the 2024 election.

“We were with the leadership team of the Attorney General and the Vice President (indicates the deep sadness of the horror that occurred and we are offering to the Minnesota people of Minnesota to provide support to those in need,” Walz said at a press conference recorded by CBS News Minnesota.

The White House, public buildings and military flags will fly on half staff until August 31st. Trump was ordered through the presidential declaration.

no.

Trump once identified as a Presbyterian, but in 2020 he told Religious News Service he began to think of him as a non-denominational Christian.

But first lady Melania Trump made the news when she met the late Pope Francis in 2017, revealing that she is Catholic when she asked the clergy to bless the Rosary Beads.

Shooter’s motives are unknown. Message includes “Kill Donald Trump”

Westman posted a documentary and weapons video on YouTube. This is used by authorities in domestic terrorist investigations. However, the writing does not immediately refer to the motives of the attack.

The suspect is believed to be a former student at a Catholic school, but it is unclear what role he played. Federal authorities who have promoted the anti-transgender agenda under the Trump administration highlight Westman’s identity as a transgender woman. According to court records, the mother petitioned a name change in 2019 to reflect Westman’s identity, which was later approved by a judge. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey opposed using the incident to “deteriorating the trans community.”

Westman appeared to be active in an online hate community.

Some of the messages left by the shooter included phrases written in rifle magazines, such as “for kids” and “Where is your God?” “Kill Donald Trump,” according to U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security.
