Swarm Network, a platform that develops distributed protocols for AI agents, recently announced the successful results of its first flock. Tools (presumably “biology” is a better term) were built to tackle disinformation. Called Rollup News, The Swarm is not an app, software platform or centralized algorithm. This is a distributed collection of AI agents working together to solve bigger problems. The problem is that platforms like X allow all sorts of virus claims. Partly it comes from incredibly influential people. Can you know what is true?
Now we are trying to solve this issue through equally large opposition, providing facts and expert opinions. But if those sources are from the political aspects you oppose, why do you need to trust them? After all, these are people with their own motivations, and two additional issues are created. The facts presented by one person can easily be caught up in accusations of “fake news.” You can attack ground truth using false reports presented as “facts.”
Unfortunately, this is not the current trend that ultimately loses popularity and fades out. The more technology and access to a variety of news sources, the more difficult it is to not treat these sources evenly. Some may be traditional outlets that are legally liable for forgerying claims. Others are popular podcasters with an audience of millions, and experiencing their fears is well tied with the products in their merchandise store. If this stops, you can probably tell the truth from fiction. But it’s not that simple. Official news channels have a history of spinning the news with their own biases or ignoring other stories that are generally important. On the other side, there are truly powerful influencers who seem to depend on finding the truth and reporting it.
The world becomes both chaos and danger, and the old “standing and stone” proverbs have proven false. Ultimately, we have been influenced by major policy changes driven by false claims, and are damaged and lost as a result of powerful people lying, but lying loudly, which has led us to lie frequently enough to believe in a large group of people. And convince these same groups that the opposite facts are actual “fake news.”
Fact check correction
Given how challenging the disinformation industry is, how slippery the truth today is, who can you hope to fight it? We recognize that all news is distorted to some extent and that people of all aspects believe in sources that support existing beliefs.
Third-party sources supported by overwhelming evidence are necessary to arbitrate. You should not give your opinion to the source, the way you do it should be transparent and everyone should be able to see the same thing. This is almost impossible, but the Web3 industry shows that these attributes have become very powerful. The information is verified, the decision is transparent and locked through the blockchain. This model used these very powerful and neutral tools to travel trillions of dollars.
Combining this trust with other factors, Web3 is excellent at decentralising. Next, we’ll attach another accelerated technology, the AI agent. AI agents are designed to be easily built and perform one task very well. The system is at the heart of the Swarm Network model, with the first roll-up news. A growing population of AI agents, Swarm is designed to work collectively to scrutinize the corners of X, find claims from users, and collectively test validity using sources found in the information space. The results of these assessments are posted on a blockchain that has been verified by a large, large group of independent agents. Additionally, the human element is decentralized, preventing a particular perspective from claiming itself, and if someone tries to present fiction as fact, misconduct equals expulsion. The beginning of something new?
The success of Rollup News and the larger model of Swarm Network tells us some about fixing issues today. This is a component that provides scalable solutions, demonstrating that central AI agents can effectively work together to solve huge challenges without a centralized system. A distributed environment fixed by Web3 is key to transparency, trust and ensuring strangers can work together anywhere in the world. Finally, tokenization of such systems creates the necessary incentives to attract more participants and drives the growth of the system. As long as it creates value, people pay for its use, and those who help validate and protect decentralized networks earn rewards. Truly a type of free market system can expand global demand faster than traditional companies.
