Chosen from over 60,000 entries, the curated exhibit shines a spotlight on “100 inspiring and powerful images” of nature.

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year contest, presented by the Museum of Natural History in London, returns to its 61st edition, with the curators giving viewers a peek at some of the best photos of nature.

Chosen from over 60,000 entries, the curated exhibit shines a spotlight on “100 inspiring and powerful images” of nature. The photo was “anonymously selected by a panel of judges of international experts in wildlife photography, filmmaking, science and conservation based on creativity, originality and technical excellence,” the museum said in a news release on August 27th.

The museum said the entry was submitted by “some young wildlife photographers, age nine.”

Dr. Dugar, director of the Museum of Natural History London, said in a statement that the contest organizers are “thrilled to continue wildlife photographers as a powerful platform for visual storytelling, and to demonstrate the diversity, beauty, complexity of nature and the relationship of humanity with it.”

Impressive images from the collection include “Dramatic Standoff Between the Lion and the Cobra” photographed by Gabriella Komi in Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, a portrait of a curious fackish Arctic wolf by Amit Echel, and air photographs of a wild elephant passing through a massive dump of Srinan Kabai Bye Ancannaru Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara Ara A

The selected images will be exhibited at an exhibition held at the Museum of Natural History in London from October 17, 2025 to July 12, 2026. “It helps visitors understand how our planet’s habitat is changing,” according to a news release.

In a statement, ju-dean ju-de-elect Kathy Moran, chairman of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year, said the preview “provides small insights into 100 adoring, impactful and inspiring images for visitors to the October exhibition.”

“As an advocate of the power of photography, there is nothing more rewarding or moving than seeing its relationship with nature, seeing its complexity and splendor, and being shared on the world’s largest platform of wildlife photography,” Moran said.

The winners of the category, Grand Title and Young Grand Title Award winners, will be announced on October 14th at a ceremony held at the museum. The ceremony can be viewed live on the Museum of Natural History’s YouTube channel.
