Three people were killed when the helicopter crashed on the Isle of Wight during flying lessons Monday morning, officials said.
One person has been hospitalized and is in serious condition, according to Hampshire and Isle of Wight.
Flight operator Northumbria Helicopters said the four were on board as the aircraft took off from Santown Airport around 9am local time and were offering flight lessons.
About 24 minutes later, police said they were called to a helicopter crashed in a field near a road in the Shanklin area.
Aviation footage from British media shows that the body of the aircraft, a G-OCLV model, has been significantly damaged.
Emergency responders from various agencies were deployed at the accident scene and roads were closed.
The UK’s Aviation Accident Investigation Department dispatched inspectors to collect evidence and make inquiries.
Northumbria Helicopters said they are working with investigators.
The cause of the crash is not yet known.
Police in Hampshire and Isle of Wight said they could not provide further information about the officials.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
