Check your freezer: Some Bluebell ice creams have been recalled in more than a dozen states due to the potentially fatal reactions for some consumers, the Texas-based company announced.

According to a Food and Drug Administration release announced as a public service on Friday, August 22, Bluebell Cream Leeds employees have discovered false packaging labels for some of their products “while restocking retailers.”

Bluebell spontaneously recalls the muulenium crunch ice cream half gallon packaged in a carton of chocolate chip cookie dough produced in a plant in Brenham, Texas.

The announcement states that eating an affected product will result in you being allergic to or susceptible to almonds, walnuts, pecans or nuts.

What Bluebell Ice Cream is being recalled?

The recalled Moo-llennium Crunch semi-gallon ice cream is wrapped in a half-gallon carton of chocolate chip cookie dough with a Moo-llenium crunch lid.

The product lot code on the top of the lid is 061027524.

According to the Blue Bell website, Moo-Lelnium Crunch Flavor includes “classic vanilla ice cream with a combination of dark chocolate chunks, creamy caramel chunks, roasted pecans, chopped almonds and walnuts.”

Meanwhile, the chocolate chip cookie dough contains “chunks of chocolate chip cookie dough and dark chocolate chips.”

According to the company and the FDA, half-gallons of the affected ice cream were distributed through retailers in these 16 states.

The announcement did not list stores.

How to get a refund for Bluebell Ice Cream

As of the date of the recall, no illness or death was reported, the FDA reported. Anyone who consumes a product and experiences adverse effects should contact a healthcare professional.

Those who purchase the affected product can return it to a respected purchase location for a refund, the company said.
