The collapse of a raid bridge over China’s major rivers has killed at least 12 workers and four others have gone missing, state media reports said.
Aerial photographs from the official Xinhua Conference show the large section missing from the curved aquamarine arch of the bridge.
The bent section of the bridge deck hangs below in the yellow river below.
When 16 workers were on a bridge in Qinghai Province in northwestern China, steel cables snapped during a tension operation around 3am on Friday, Xinhua said. Boats, helicopters and robots were used to search for missing people.
