Burlington will have a grand opening for new stores scheduled in 19 states, in addition to the recently opened location, according to the retailer’s website.

Originally called Burlington Court Factory, the company opened its first store in Burlington, New Jersey in 1972. The first store was operated in a factory, so it’s the name. The company opened 29 additional stores between 1973 and 1982, but today there are over 1,000 stores throughout the United States.

Burlington promotes himself as a “off-price retailer” similar to stores such as TJ Maxx and Marshalls, selling clothing and shoes from a wide range of brands, as well as products in the male, female, junior, children, home and beauty categories.
